Anchor Bolts HAS E-55
Can hilti anchor bolts be modified in length by cutting off a top piece to make them shorter

Hi Mamta,
Hilti typically recommends against cutting anchors and engineers avoid cutting on anchors for the following reasons:
- The mechanical properties of the anchor could be changed resulting in reduced load capacity.
- The corrosion resistance properties of the anchor could be reduced during the cutting process.
- Cutting could remove the length identification mark on the anchor (if applicable).
- The threads of the anchor could be damaged.
These are only items to consider when cutting anchors and is not an exhaustive list. Final decision and design is ultimately at the discretion of the engineer on the project.
