Design Post-Installed Rebar per ACI 318 Chapter 17 and 25 Provisions
Extending existing reinforced concrete slabs, walls, and columns are common applications for post-installed rebar. This is often a need for new construction with a preferred construction sequence. For renovation projects, this helps facilitate the expansion of floor space or address other functional changes in a structure. For these structural extensions, non-contact tension lap splices are designed to transfer the tension loads between adjacent bars through the surrounding concrete. In this session, we will discuss the development length design provisions of ACI 318 Chapter 25, as well as the post-installed anchor design provisions of ACI 318 Chapter 17 that can be utilized to design these connections. - Webinar
