I am designing a connection between a 2x material and a 1/2" thick steel plate. I can not find any information on the shear strength of the fastener nor the recommended fastener to use for this application. What would be ideal and recommended per Hilti?

When attaching wood to steel base materials, the X-U or DS fasteners are commonly used as power-actuated fastening options with further evaluation by the Engineer of Record on the project. Please refer to Section 3.2.2.4 on page 24 of the Direct Fastening Technical Guide for more information on recommended fastener lengths for attaching wood to steel base material. Additional technical data for the fasteners can be found starting on page 30 of the Direct Fastening Technical Guide for your review and to confirm suitability in your application.
