I am working on an existing building renovation where we have a 2x12 framed floor that intersects into an exterior CMU wall. When the flooring and drywall were removed it revealed a gap between the floor sheathing and the block wall (gap being anywhere from 0-3" wide). The code inspector is looking for a UL rated Joint system but I cannot seem to find one for a wood floor. The solution would have to installed from the floor, there is no access from the ceiling below. Required rating is one hour min.

We definitely can provide a solution for this application so long as the floor/ceiling assembly is rated; however, we do not have a UL system so you will need to request for an engineering judgment, which will be a custom detail showing your exact application with the firestop components required to maintain the stated ratings.
