Why is Anchor Plate Factor defaulted to 1.5 instead of 1.0?

When using the Anchoring to Concrete module I get errors that my anchors are too close to edge of steel even though per Steel code, etc I should be fine. I then see in there is an Anchor Plate Factor in default settings as 1.5 instead of 1.0. Why is this and how to I change my default for this to stay at 1.0 for any new projects?

Hi Jaime,

PROFIS Engineering classifies the minimum edge distance of an anchor to the edge of the steel plate it is fastening down through the “Anchor Plate Factor” ( See AskHilti article for more details). PROFIS is referencing AISI S100 instead of AICI. Within AISI S100 J4.2 it is stated “The distance from the center of a fastener to the edge or end of any part shall not be less than 1.5d”.

Regards,
Ashley
