Which Material Will Provide Required Protection at Field Condition?

We have a field condition between a 1 hour rated wall and a spray-applied fireproofed steel beam. There is not enough room to get a tool up into the space between the beam and the adjacent wall. We have terminated the wall at the same level as the bottom flange of the beam and then fire-sealed. Which HILTI material would be most ideal and economical to apply to further applications.

Hey Chris,

Thanks for using the Ask Hilti platform!

Hilti has a UL Listed System that should be close to your condition, however it will be dependent on if the gypsum board continues past the beam flange. If the attached system (HW-D-0388) does not work for your condition, we can take a look at addressing your application through an engineering judgment which will be a detail showing your exact application with the required firestop components to maintain the stated ratings. Please see the attached Hilti engineering judgment request form. Fill out and email the completed form along with any additional details to usfirestopeng@hilti.com If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please feel free to call or email us.

Thank you for choosing Hilti as your firestop specialist and have a great day.

Regards,
