Wedge anchor minimum embedment

Wedge anchor minimum embedment

The Hilti product technical guides list multiple min embedments/min hole depths for a given dia. of wedge anchor. For example, the TZ2 product guide, Table 1 under Installation parameters lists 1 1/2", 2", 2 1/2", 3 1/4" for the effective minimum embedment hef. Why are multiple values listed here? If I am looking for the minimum a particular anchor can be embedded, I would expect to find just a single value.

Hi Tom,

There are various minimum embedment depths in the technical data for the KB-TZ2 is due to the varying lengths of the anchors. For example, a longer KB-TZ2 of the same diameter could have a deeper embedment depth requirement. Additionally, there are varying parameters for the minimum and maximum fixture thickness. The thickness of your fixture also assists in selecting the correct embedment depth for the design. These variations can be found in the Ordering Instructions for the KB-TZ2 in Hilti’s Anchor Fastening Product Technical Guide.
