Threaded bolt area
How do you calculate the threaded bolt area? In the example below, I am using 1.5" = 38.1mm bolt. I understand the Ms0 value is based off of the threaded area of the bolt (not full area) but cannot find the equation for this value.

Hi Lauren,
The additional information needed to calculate the MsO value can be found on page 130 of the PROFIS Engineering Design Guide. This page has a table for the effective area of the various threaded rod steel types.
