Tension load on ledger angle
I have a steel angle shape on top of concrete oriented like a ledger angle. I have a tension force in Z direction but can’t seem to input a Z force value. How can I do it?

Hi Robert,
Currently, shear loads (vertical and in plane) are the only loads that are able to be added to ledger angle designs in PROFIS Engineering. This is the reason why the tension and moment load boxes are greyed out and unable to be edited. The most common use case is to have shear loads on ledger angles that are on walls.
Instead of using the ledger angle as an anchor plate, we have seen engineers use an L profile on top of a rectangular plate, but ultimately this decision would be up to the Engineer of Record.

Ashley
