Steel to CLT Connection

Steel to CLT Connection

I am working on a project that requires 2HR rated primary structure (beams, columns, floor deck). The building is utilizing a steel frame with an intumescent coating and CLT floor deck designed to provide a 2HR rating. Does Hilti have an engineering judgement that addresses the interface between the steel beams and CLT deck?

Hello,

There is an opportunity to create an engineering judgment for conditions that resemble a UL classified D990 design (https://iq.ulprospector.com/en/profile?e=13959), but with a mass timber floor rather than a concrete floor with steel form units.

The outcome will be sensitive to the details of the assemblies and the order of installation. For that reason I would invite you to submit an engineering judgment request so we can collect all the details needed. Please see the link below to begin that process.
