Stainless Steel Studs for Flanged Connections
Which grades of stainless steel are susceptible to galling? All grades of stainless steel or primarily 300 series? Thoughts on pairing stainless steel studs with silicon bronze nuts?

Hi Jin,
Unfortunately, Hilti is not knowledgeable on what specific grades of stainless steel are more susceptible to galling and is not aware of any galling issues with any of its products. The decision to use silicon bronze nuts with a stainless-steel threaded stud will ultimately be up to engineering judgement.
