First of all, we exclusively use Profis for anchor design in our office and it is an invaluable tool for us. However, I recently noticed you added the ability to adjust the shear load distribution in Profis (which is great), but it does not seem to work for me. When I do a test of a simple 4-anchor CIP anchor bolt connection, the shear edge failure capacity does not change when I toggle between the options of "row closest" and "up to first three rows". Technically the capacity should go up as you distribute to the back anchors because the ca1 value goes up increasing your breakout area. However, the ca1 value in the output stays at the lower value on both runs. The only way I can get it to distribute the shear is to choose welded studs, which makes sense. However, it does not make sense to me that it will not change when using CIP anchor bolts. Is this an glitch in the software or am I not understanding the concept? Thanks.
Hi Tim,
Could you please share your PROFIS .pe file with our technical services team at hnatechnicalservices@hilti.com so that we can better assist you?
