If the roof deck is outside as in over canopy, which fastener would be better in terms of waterproofing? We have mostly specified welds but if Hilti PAF are waterproofed then we can specify that instead.

Exposure to exterior conditions for Hilti’s decking fasteners (the X-HSN 24 and the X-ENP 19) is discussed in Section 5.8 of ESR-2776. The section mentions the addition of corrosion-resistant paint or sealant for permanently exposed steel deck. As an alternate to applying the corrosion-resistant paint or sealant, the SDK2 is an SAE stainless steel sealing cap with a neoprene seal that can be installed over the X-ENP 19 to provide additional corrosion resistance and achieve a water-resistant seal when properly installed.
