Hi,
In case of damaging on applied firestop sealant/mortar, should we remove all sealant/mortar from opening and reapply again or just to apply some sealant for damaged area.
for example: Cable Tray opening sealed by FS-one MAX then some drilling done as size of cable in sealant to laying new cable, shall we remove and reapply or just enough to seal around new cable.
the same example for openings which is sealed by CP636.
Please advice and if you have a method of statement for such cases please share it.
Regards,
Hello,
Thank you for your question.
In the case of damaged sealant or mortar, you can apply new sealant or mortar to fill in the damaged areas. The only exception is for our silicone sealants (SIL GG and SIL SL) because the new sealant would not stick to the cured sealant.
Should you have any further questions, please reach out to the product manger James Barton at james.barton@hilti.com.
