What is the purpose of the Red Line on the KB-TZ2 Wedge Anchors. I had initially assumed that it was used to notify the user if an anchor did not meet minimum embedment depth requirements. However, I noticed that the Red Line on a 5/8" diameter anchor is at 3" from the bottom of the anchor (2.5" from the tip of the wedge) but the Red Line on a 3/4" diameter anchor is at 2-5/8" from the bottom of the anchor (2" from the tip of the wedge). Those measurements appear to be less the minimum nominal (effective) embedment depths listed in the Technical Guide. i.e 5/8" diameter is 2-3/4" minimum and 3/4" diameter is 3-1/4" minimum.
Hi Noah,
The red line is to help identify the anchor as a KB-TZ2. It does not relate to the anchor's length or embedment and should not be used to determine if the anchor was properly embeded or not.
Thank you,
Emily
