I am looking for a vertical assembly detail for a 1 hour rated 1" joint between a CMU wall and another CMU wall or concrete column. The 1" joint is not a movement joint. It is only for thermal expansion and it was oversized by the structural engineer purposefully for other reasons. The challenge for this joint is that the exterior side of the CMU has a drainable 3 part stucco system over rigid insulation as the exterior finish. The barrier is a Tremco 250 GC waterproofing membrane.

Configuration B of System WW-D-0270 may be the best fit for this application as it allows for the firestopping to be installed from the interior side only and will have a mineral wool backer flush with the exterior side of the CMU to provide separation from the firestopping to the stucco system. If this system will not meet your condition it can be addressed with an Engineering Judgment; which will be a custom detail showing your exact application with the firestop components required to maintain the stated ratings.
