I am a Project Manager and civil engineer who is designing a ladder for a public project in New York. The Architect and Engineer of Record rejected my last submisson because I am using HY 270 for anchoring the brackets of the ladder to the wall and at the location of one bracket, the anchors anchoring the bracket go first through facebrick and then through a concrete beam. They say I cannot use HY270 at that location because I am going through a solid substrate which is the concrete beam. Can you please look through this issue and give me some recommendations? And if it is possible to use Hilti HY270 at that location, could you please provide a statement letter? I would like to get this approved and proceed to place the order with you guys and proceed with my work.
Hi Ulises,
Hilti’s HIT-HY 270 adhesive does not have approvals for anchoring into concrete base materials. For a list of adhesive anchor options that are approved for concrete base materials, please see the Anchor Selection Guide on page 4 of the Anchor Product Technical Guide.
If you have further questions, please reach out to our technical services team at hnatechnicalservices@hilti.com.
