Punching Shear Post-Installed Reinforcement for Footings
I specified the use of Hilti HZA-P tension anchors to increase the punching shear capacity of existing spread footings in a project I am working on. However, the contractor is saying these anchors are no longer available. Are there any similar products that can be used to increase punching shear in this application?

Hi Hunter,
The HZA-P anchor appears to be a European anchor. You can reach out to Hilti UK for further ordering information.
For anchor product selection help in North America, please see Hilti’s Anchor Product Technical Guide from Hilti's website. Below are quick links to sections of the Tech Guide:
- Anchor Selection Chart on pages 4-7 - a helpful comparison of Hilti's anchors
- Section 3.2 Adhesive Anchoring Systems starting on page 30
- Commonly considered ultimate-performance adhesive anchors for concrete are HIT-HY 200 V3 (fast cure) and HIT-RE 500 V3 (slow cure)
- HIT-RE 500 V3 Technical Data with threaded rod
- HIT-HY 200 V3 Technical Data with threaded rod
- Hilti’s Ultimate Masonry Adhesive Anchor is HIT-HY 270
- Section 3.3 Mechanical Anchoring Systems starting on page 261
- The most commonly considered expansion/wedge anchor is the Hilti Kwik Bolt TZ2
Ultimately, all design decisions are at the discretion of the Engineer of Record (EOR) on the project.
Best Regards,
Emily
