Pullover Design Capacities for Gypsum Board

I am looking for information related to pullover data for screws attaching gypsum board to CFS studs. Does this information exist?

Hello Jason,

Thank you for reaching out. In general, screw attachment of metal-backed gypsum sheets to steel is shown on page 45 of the Interior Fastening Design Guide. More general screw fastening information is found in Section 3.6 of the Direct Fastening Technical Guide. However, as you note, pullover values are not included in this documentation for a gypsum fixture material. As this is not directly covered in Hilti’s technical data, it will ultimately be at the discretion of the Engineer of Record / Authority Having Jurisdiction on the project to determine acceptable fastening. Some resources engineers refer to in these applications include but are not limited to: ASTM C840, ASTM C954, and GA-216.

Kind regards,
Sinan
