Very often we're dealing with conditions where, for a given maximum possible embedment length, we'd like to determine the maximum capacity that's available for a rebar dowel in adhesive. It seems like the concrete-to-concrete module (tee joint) doesn't allow for the user to specify the dowel embedment. There are conditions where, given a specific embedment, we need to understand what maximum capacity we can rely on for the anchor we'd like to provide. Where does the anchor reach 100% capacity? Can this user input for embedment be reinstated in the new module?
Hi Angelene,
There is no option to specify an embedment depth within the Concrete-to-Concrete module in PROFIS Engineering. The purpose of this module is to determine the necessary development length based upon the input parameters in accordance with rebar development theory. If you would like to design the adhesive system based upon anchor theory, you will need to model the application within the Anchoring-to-Concrete module. This module will follow ACI-318 19 Chapter 17 and will give a utilization percentage for the anchoring system.
