When switching between results for the number of sidelaps vs sidelap spacing, I'm getting different values. All other inputs remain the same. Example1, See zone 2L on attached. Sidelap spacing = 36", but # of sidelaps = 2, seems like this should be 1 sidelap. See zone 3L spacing = 36" but number of sidelaps = 1. This makes sense.
Example 2, See zone 2R sidelap spacing = 24", but #of sidelaps = 3, seems like this should be 2.
Hi David,
In PROFIS DF, you are able to change the sidelap connector spacing ranges, see first image attached. For inches on center, the spacing goes up to 36 inches on center, but for sidelap per span, the spacing is able to be 1 per span. The software will optimize the design to achieve the smallest design shear value that will beat the given design shear. In your case, the design was optimized at 1 sidelap per span for Zone 3L and Zone 3R.
Additionally, you are able to lock in specific parameters of the design, including sidelap connector spacing, by clicking the box next to the design parameter you would like to lock in. See second image attached. For further assistance, please reach out to hnatechnicalservices@hitli.com.
