Are there design values available for post installing rebar into slab on deck? We need to install vertical dowels into a 3" lightweight concrete slab on 2" deck. There will be shear and tension on the rebar, but the forces are not too high. If design values are not available for this scenario, would you be able to validate the rebar for this use if pull tests were completed in the field?

Hilti does not have any testing for rebar installed into the top of concrete over metal deck. Since this application falls outside of the scope of Hilti's testing, the engineer of record for the project could consider using engineering judgement and/or on-site testing.
