Post installed anchors into cracked vs uncracked concrete
For Kwik Bolt TZ2 and Kwik HUS EZ anchors near the edge of a 2.5ft wide footing, I'm getting results that indicate the capacity into cracked concrete is actually higher than into uncracked for tension loads. Appears to be due to kcr, kuncr, and cac values assigned to specific anchors. This result is counterintuitive, but is it expected based on the way the code is written and based on the testing done on the anchors? If this is expected, is it common practice to ignore uncracked (lower) values and design using cracked concrete capacities?
