Plain steel threaded rods with oil coating
For plain steel threaded rods used for epoxy anchors. The rods come from the mfr.
with a light coat of oil to protect from rusting during shipping. Does the oil have to be removed before installing
in the epoxy embed?

Hi Brenton,
Threaded rods installed with Hilti adhesive anchors must comply with the specifications listed in the respective ESR for the adhesive. For example, with HIT-RE 500 V3 in ESR-3814, information on threaded rods can be found in Section 3.2.5.1. I have also included a snippet for your reference.
