PAFs at perforated steel decking
I have contractor that is requesting to use PAFs i.l.o. screws to connect perforated steel decking. Are PAFs allowed to be used in steel decking that is perforated? Specifically looking at the X-ENP 19 metal deck fasteners where we are connecting perforated metal decking to HSS framing members.

Hi Nathan,
Hilti has not performed testing with decking fasteners and perforated deck. The decision to proceed with fastening perforated deck with either X-HSN 24 or X-ENP-19 pins would ultimately be an engineering judgement at the discretion of the Engineer of Record (EOR) on the project.
