Nut and Washer Height Clarification

When you have an anchor base plate design with a 1'' standoff, should the nut and washer height input also be 1''? Was is this dimension in reference to?

Hi Johnny,

The stand-off height is the distance between the base plate and the concrete. The nut and washer height will remain the same unless you wanted a taller nut for whatever reason. There are different stand-off conditions, and it is not clear which one you are referring to. If you would like to speak to Hilti's engineering team about your specific stand-off condition, please reach out to 877-749-6337 or hnatechnicalservices@hilti.com.

So, then the nut and washer height is between the bottom of the washer plate and the top of the steel plate? If I have a 1'' standoff (from bottom of base plate to top of concrete) and I want the washer plate to sit flush with the top of the steel plate. I would have 0'' for the nut and washer height?

Hi Johnny,

No, the washer height would remain the same. Depending on the type of stand-off and anchor selected, it is assumed that the nut and washer need to be in contact with the base plate. If you are in PROFIS Engineering, there are images that show what the stand-off conditions need to look like. If you need more explanation, please reach out to Hilti's engineers.

Thanks,
Dani
