Non structural CFS Head of Wall Deck attachment over spray on fireproofing
Is there a detail that can be provided for non-structural non rated walls: attaching CRC or Z clips for top track attachment over spray on fire proofing using washer pins? this detail has been used in the TI industry for ever but is being questioned by the architect.

Hi Jake,
In general, direct fasteners may be used to attach to steel beams coated with intumescent paint, as long as the fastener is properly installed. For technical data, please reference the Direct Fastening Technical Guide on Hilti's website.
