I have a condition where a contractor installed post installed epoxy anchors at an insufficient depth for the required load. As a result a new anchor will need to be installed at the proper depth. The non-conforming anchor will not be used. Some reason would indicate that give the tensile stress capacity of the existing epoxy anchor interface with the concrete would not be the weak link compared to the concrete itself. As a result it wouldn't seem unreasonable that if the existing anchor were to not be loaded the new anchor could be placed fairly close to the existing without much reduction in capacity if any at all. Does Hilti have any test data that may support/undermine this conclusion?
