There are existing cables running through a newly 2 hour rated wall. The issue is that they are installed on an angle so they go in/out approximately 2 feet apart in a 45 degree angle. See purple bundle in attached photo
Hi Nathan, I have uploaded the UL guide info that may help you here. The second to last paragraph on page 3 states
"Where the uninsulated penetrating item in the individual design is indicated as a metallic pipe, conduit, tube, duct or cable, and the firestop system consists at minimum of a fill material (such as sealants, putty or mortar), the penetrant may pass through the opening in the wall or floor assembly at any angle, provided the annular space is maintained on both sides of the wall or floor assembly and all other specifications in the design are satisfied. In all other cases, except where otherwise indicated in the system, the penetrating item should penetrate the wall or floor assembly at a 90° angle."
This means as long as you are within the UL listed system parameters with your cable(s) you will be able to install it at any angle. If you fall outside of the parameters of your UL listed system you would need to submit for an Engineering Judgement (EJ). Please see below how to submit an EJ
Thank you,

We are proud to announce the launch of the HILTI CONSTRUCTION PLATFORM (HCP), our company’s new engineering service website. This platform will be the home for all of your Fire Protection Design needs. Instead of emailing a PDF form for a request, the platform enables you to create new Engineering Judgment (EJ) requests, submit revisions to previously completed EJs or connect with an FPE on a question. HCP also enables you to track the status of your request.
You can find more information on how to access this new platform here: http://www.hilti.com/ej (US) or http://www.hilti.ca/ej (Canada.) If you have any questions or require assistance navigating the platform, please call Customer Service for help at 1-800-879-8000 (US) or 1-800-363-4458 (Canada.)
Along with HCP, Hilti is excited to announce our new mobile app for all your firestop needs: Hilti Firestop Selector. Using the Firestop Selector app gives you easy access to the Hilti Fire Protection Design Team from the jobsite, on the road, or in the office to request a new EJ, an EJ Revision, or a Question anytime, anywhere. You can download the app using the appropriate link below.
