Minimum Edge distance inconsistency in designs

Minimum Edge distance inconsistency in designs

I'm trying to determine why I'm getting a required edge distance of 9-inches for the attached design. I can't attach 2 designs, but I have another design where it's allowing the 6-inch edge distance, and to my knowledge everything else is acceptable.

Why is there a discrepancy here? What is driving the need for such large edge distances?

Also, unrelated, but is it possible to model circular concrete sections in this program?

Thanks,
Greg Hill

Concrete Edges,bolt edge distance

Hi Gregory,

After reviewing the files, there are two different anchors selected: heavy hex head bolt and a hex head bolt. The difference in the edge distance requirements is likely due to the use of two different anchors.

Circular base materials are currently outside the scope of PROFIS Engineering. A conservative approach would be to draw a square within the desired circle base material, and then use the edge distances of the square for the calculations.

For further assistance, please email both ".pe" files to hnatechnicalservices@hilti.com.

Regards,
Ashley
