minimum concrete curing time

We are installing rebar using Hilti HIT-RE 500 V3 adhesive into concrete. Is there a minimum CURING time required for the concrete for installation of the rebar assuming the concrete has reached the design compressive strength prior to 28 days?

Hilti Verified

Hi Sadra,

Concrete that has cured for less than 28 days is referred to as green concrete. For information on anchoring into green concrete, please reference Hilti’s Anchor Product Technical Guide Section 2.1.2 on pages 11-12. Click here to access the guide from Hilti’s website. Post-installed mechanical anchors and post-installed adhesive anchors have different considerations, which are both discussed in Section 2.1.2. Typically, site testing is recommended to verify the fastening capacity into green concrete applications.

Regards,
Ashley
