Min edge distance for expansion anchors

I have contractor installed expansion anchors only 1.5'' away from concrete slab edge. Is this acceptable? ESR-1917 report recommends min. 3'' edge distance for 5/8'' dia anchors

Hi Yuting,

For a 5/8" carbon steel Kwik Bolt TZ, the smallest minimum edge distance is 3.25" as per Table 3 in ESR-1917. Installing at a smaller edge distance is out of the scope of testing. Installing too close to the edge of concrete may result in spalling or cracking of the concrete upon installation.
