Hello, I am looking for a detail for a fire-resistive joint system where a metal stud rated wall terminates at the underside of wood decking and/or if installed perpendicular to the structure, will also need to go around existing glulams.

Unfortunately, we would not be able to provide a rated solution for this application. Because the non-rated roof deck is formed from combustible material, we are unable to apply our test standard for continuity head of wall joints. The most we would be able to provide for you is a non-rated cold smoke seal solution, which is intended to stop the passage of cold smoke but does not have a fire-rating. If you would like to request a cold smoke seal, please see the instructions below for accessing the Hilti Construction Platform.
