Maximum Depth for Adhesive Rebar Application

Is there a maximum hole/embedment depth for adhesive rebar applications for hilti adhesive products? (beyond max. effective embedment depths and/or development lengths)

Hilti Verified

Hi Brad,

If the design is based on Anchor Theory, the different failure modes described in ACI 318 Chapter 17, i.e. concrete breakout, steel strength, bond strength, etc., are evaluated and the embedment depths are limited to a maximum of 20db per ACI 318.

If the design is based on Rebar Development Theory, the maximum embedment depth is limited to 60db.

Regards,
Ashley

Thank you Ashley! I wasn't sure if there was any other limitations based on product specific curing, installation, etc., not necessarily design theory limitations. Sounds like the only maximum embedment depth limits are based on design theory.
