Hello,
The testing for KB-TZ2 into the top of concrete over metal deck was only performed with the carbon steel KB-TZ2 and not the stainless steel KB-TZ2. This is why there is not the option for the stainless steel in KB-TZ2 into the top of concrete over metal deck in PROFIS Engineering.

Ashley

Hi Ashley,
Thanks for your quick response.
Irrespective of the anchor material been tested, the anchor failure is mostly governed by concrete breakout for this type of application. The ESR-4266, Evaluation Subject says "HILTI KWIK BOLT TZ2 CARBON AND STAINLESS STEEL ANCHORS IN CRACKED AND UNCRACKED CONCRETE".
In such case, why not run the calculation for CS and specify SS?
Thank you!

Hello,
Unfortunately, only the carbon steel KB-TZ2’s were tested into concrete over metal deck. You could use engineering judgement or on-site testing to account for variability in performance for the use of stainless steel KB-TZ2’s into concrete over metal deck.

Ashley
