For a 1/2" KB TZ2 Anchor with 2-1/2" effective embedment, the minimum concrete thickness is stated as 5".
For a concrete deck, the requirement is to keep the hole minimum 5/8" from the surface.
If an anchor is installed from the top into a deck which is 4-1/2" thick in addition to 3" steel deck (total 7-1/2") can the 2-1/2" eff. embedment be used given the hole would be 5/8" from the steel deck and there is a steel deck/flute providing additional cover?

Installations of the KB-TZ2 into the top of concrete over metal deck must be in compliance with Table 9 and Figure 5D of ESR-4266 to fall within Hilti's scope of testing. Unfortunately, the largest tested effective embedment depth into the top of concrete over metal deck is 2".
