Kwik Bolt in carbon steel?
Hello. Does the kwik bolt 3 expansion anchor have a carbon steel option? Or only stainless? If not, what is the recommended carbon steel expansion anchor for small baseplate attachment?

Hi Jen,
The standard carbon steel Kwik Bolt 3 is being phased out – countersunk carbon steel, stainless steel, and hot-dipped galvanized versions are currently available.
For anchor product selection help, please see Hilti’s Anchor Product Technical Guide from Hilti's website. Below are quick links to sections of the Tech Guide:
- Anchor Selection Chart on pages 4-7 - a helpful comparison of Hilti's anchors
- Section 3.3 Mechanical Anchoring Systems starting on page 261
- The most commonly considered expansion/wedge anchor is the Hilti Kwik Bolt TZ2
- Alternatively, the Kwik Bolt 1 is another expansion anchor option
Ultimately, all design decisions are at the discretion of the Engineer of Record (EOR) on the project.
Best Regards,
Emily

Hi Jen,
The countersunk carbon steel Kwik Bolt 3 is the only anchor listed above that is not currently available in PROFIS Engineering. To ensure you can select the HDG or SS Kwik Bolt 3, ensure that the cracked concrete box is unchecked (since it only has testing into uncracked concrete) and that you are designing with a rigid anchor plate design (not CBFEM).
Hope this helps.

Thanks. Are all of these anchors available in Profis?
