I am trying to design connections to Top of Grout-Filled CMU. Currently, Profis is saying the 1/2" dia KH-EZ fastener requires 4" minimum edge distance. With a standard 8x8x16 block, that is not possible. I looked in ESR-3056 and the minimum edge in Table 2 is 1 3/4". Do I have something wrong in my settings?
Hi Paul,
It will dependent upon the design methodology that you are referencing. ESR-3056 has been updated to follow LRFD whereas the Anchor Fastening Product Technical Guide is in accordance with ASD. Within PROFIS Engineering, there is the option to select your design methodology (either ASD or LRFD) dependent upon your application. This could be the reason for the difference between the minimum edge distances.
