When the epoxy cures, is the epoxy a waterproofing material, so I don't need to use any waterproof product to seal the penetrations?
Hi Elieser,
Is there a specific adhesive you are going to be installing? If you are installing HIT-HY 200 V3, information on the resistance of cured adhesive to various chemicals can be found on page 104 of Hilti’s Anchor Fastening Product Technical Guide. If you are installing HIT-RE 500 V3, information on the resistance of cured adhesive to various chemicals can be found on page 173.
Regards,
Ashley
Hello Ashley. Anchorage using HIT 200 A/R V3 epoxy is already installed. Resistance of cure Hilti epoxy does not necessarily mean waterproof. Resistance means that the epoxy is not going to degrade/lose properties/lose strength when it is in contact with the chemical. What I want to know is if one of those properties is waterproof, so I don't need to waterproof the anchorage installation. Thanks.
