Intumescent paint thickness for a HSS column
What is the required thickness to achieve a 2-HR rating on an HSS 3x3x3/16 ? Which products can be used to achieve this?

Good afternoon Audrey,
Unfortunately there is currently not sufficient testing to support a 2-hr rating on a 3" x 3" x 3/16" HSS with the Hilti Intumescent Steel Protection Coatings as it is smaller that what has been tested. Your best option would likely be to use a Cementitious Fireprotection Spray or a gypsum column enclosure. Let me know if you need anything further.
