Intumescent Paint Thickness 3-hours
How many mils of thickness of intumescent paint do I need on a 6x6x3/8 and a 6x9x3/8 steel tube to achieve a 3 hour rating

Hello,
These members do not carry a high enough massivity to fall within the ranges covered by our UL listings for the Fire Finish 120 or All-Weather High Build product lines. This will required us to provide an engineering judgement for the condition based on extrapolated thicknesses. For the engineering judgement, please send in an email to our steel protection engineering team as USSPEng@hilti.com. Within the email please re-state the sizes of the members, the desired rating, the contractor/architect this detail is for, and the project this will be for.
