Hi, I am looking at your intumescent paint data. My W Flange columns need to be rated 3hrs, but I only see up to 2hr assemblies for columns. (Design No. Y633)
Am I supposed to use Design No. 640 to reach 3hr rating on my columns?
Hello Blair and thank you for posting your question on ASK Hilti. With regards to 3 hour listing for Wide Flange Columns, we have 3 hour ratings in our UL listing under our Y633. I have attached a copy of our new UL listing for your records which should answer your question. If you need additional information, please contact the Steel Protection Engineering Team at Usspeng@hilti.com.
Ernst.
Also, the N640 UL Design can only be used for beams that are supporting a fire-resistance-rated, concrete-over-metal-decking floor assembly (the floor assembly will affect the exposed perimeter of the Steel Member, and raise the massivity (W/D) of the steel member. This is why there is less fireproofing required for the same size of member compared to the Y33 UL Design). You can obtain those 3 hour beam ratings per unrestrained or restrained data that is listed in the file. If you have additional questions, please send our engineering team your questions at Usspeng@hilti.com.
Best regards,
Ernst.
Hello- Is there a design for 3 hour beams? I need a basis of design product for possible exposed beams in my project.
Hello, does this also apply to HSS columns instead of wide flange? I am looking for 3HR rating for a HSS column.
