At a Water Treatment Plant we are installing a skid with a Blower attached to it. The unit has a VFD with minimal vibration. The skid comes with (4) 1-inch holes and sits on 5/8-inch thick bearing pad. Field Engr anticipated using 3/4 anchors and predrilled holes. I want them to use 5/8-inchØ HAS-R rods w/ RE-500 adhesive so the bearing pads can dampen the vibration. Owner wants verification from Hilti that 5/8-inch anchors can be installed in holes drilled for 3/4-inch anchors using RE-500 adhesive and ASTM F593 (CW) threaded rods at 5" embedment. The anchors have zero tension load. 5/8" anchors would in theory have zero lateral load. 3/4" anchors would have less than 1,000 lbs shear load if engaged.
Hello,
Technical information on the use of HIT-RE 500 V3 with a large annular gap can be found in this technical bulletin. Additionally, information on the various threaded rods that are able to be installed with HIT-RE 500 V3 can be found in Section 3.2.5.1 of ESR-3814.
