increasing embedment above max. specified value in ESR

Attached a 0.625" diameter anchor capacity check at deeper effective embedment than is reported in the ESR (5.25” for the Hilti KB-TZ2). We are looking to take advantage of a thicker slab (8") to gain
some additional tension capacity by calculating an upper bound pullout capacity (called out as N/A in table) and then checking both pullout and breakout at the deeper embedment.

Here are the results in table form:

  1. 8x8 baseplate at 4.5" embed. = 10.4k tension capacity
  2. 8x8 baseplate at 5.25" embed. = 12.0k tension capacity
  3. 10x10 baseplate at 5.25" embed. = 14.3k tension capacity

Slab thickness is 8” so 5.25” effective embedment is based on the assumption that embedment does not exceed 2/3 times slab thickness.

Would Hilti support this approach for the embedment of a 5/8" diameter anchor into 8" thick slab? Thanks.
