I need a head of wall detail (1hr) for a PEMB using the double layer insulation system. Please see the attached insulation submittal from the PEMB erector. I original submitted and received approval for the HW-D-0528, HW-D-0529 and HW-D-0530. The problem is the approved PEMB insulation system, which is required to obtain the required minimum R-value closes off the roof purlin cavity and we wont be able to install the closure framign and drywall which the 5" deep leg track fastens to. The design team is open to suggestions as long as we can still maintain the minimum roof r-value.

From a Fire Protection view, we cannot speak on how to design your assembly to ensure that kept your R-value of the deck. We can only tell you how to firestop your constructed assembly. If our listed systems do not work for you application, you can submit for a engineering judgement including details on how you plan on constructing your assembly. I have included instructions below on how to submit for that engineering judgement (free service).
