Hy 270 reduction factors

Hello,
looking through these reports, there is a reduction factor "fred,s=0.440"(page 5), but the tech sheets have the smallest reduction factor for spacing as "0.5" (technical guide 19, page 221, downloaded 3/08/2022). Why is profis giving a larger reduction?

Hi Jonathan,

Load reduction factors are multiplicative. Therefore, if more than one anchor or spacing is affecting the controlling anchor, the load reduction factors will be multiplied together. For your specific scenario, in shear, anchor 2 is the controlling anchor. Anchor 2 is affected by 3 anchors surrounding it, anchor 1, anchor 5, and anchor 3. Therefore, the load reduction factor for anchor spacing would be multiplied 3 times through to arrive at the final load reduction factor for anchor 2. For further assistance, please reach out to hnatechnicalservices@hilti.com.

Regards,
Ashley
