How much does the location of reinforcement and ties contribute to the tensile and shear capacity of epoxy bolt attachments?
Given an epoxy bolt group of say 4 anchors in a square plan view pattern in the top of a concrete pier, the placement, proximity and size of the concrete pier reinforcement should have an enormous impact on the tension and shear capacity of the group. Has there been testing on this?

Hi Perry,
All testing for Hilti's post-installed anchors is based on a monolithic concrete slab without the presence of reinforcement. Therefore, it will ultimately be up to engineering judgement to determine the effect of supplemental reinforcement on anchor performance.
