How is the shear load, Q, in lb/ft defined in the Diaphragm Design module?
What does the shear load, Q, in lb/ft that is input in the Diaphragm Design module represent? Is it the total shear load over multiple supports (whole roof or floor for that zone possibly), shear load between any two supports, shear load along one support, or something else? How does the defined shear load get distributed in the design?

Hi Andrew,
For more information on the inputs and calculations performed in PROFIS Engineering’s Diaphragm Design Module, please refer to the PROFIS Engineering Diaphragm Design Guide. Example calculations can also be found in this design guide.
