How is the shear load, Q, in lb/ft defined in the Diaphragm Design module?

What does the shear load, Q, in lb/ft that is input in the Diaphragm Design module represent? Is it the total shear load over multiple supports (whole roof or floor for that zone possibly), shear load between any two supports, shear load along one support, or something else? How does the defined shear load get distributed in the design?
