How Do I Share Loads Between Two Anchors in a Concrete-over-Metal-Deck Soffit (Low Flute) in PROFIS?

Why does PROFIS apply the entire load to only one anchor when I design a two-anchor connection into the bottom flute of a concrete-filled metal deck (soffit condition)? I would expect the load to be shared between both anchors. Is there a way to have PROFIS distribute the load equally between the two anchors?

Hi David,

Thank you for reaching out. The concrete over metal deck module in PROFIS Engineering only evaluates a single anchor. The purpose of adding a second anchor into the design is to ensure that minimum anchor spacing requirements are not violated. A hand calculation would be required to evaluate a group of anchors installed in concrete over metal deck.

Regards,
Kevin
