HIT-HY 200 V3 Adhesive with HAS Threaded Rod in Core Drilled Holes
ESR-4868 requires core drilled holes to be roughened with the Hilti TE-YRT roughening tool prior to grouting the threaded rod in the hole. The contractor failed to roughen the surface as required so the anchor has been grouted inside of a smooth hole. Are there reduction factors that can be used to check the anchors as-installed? Are there other options to confirm adequacy of the anchors? These connections are exposed in the final condition so any remediation needs to be architecturally acceptable.

Hi Tom,
If the anchors were not installed per the instructions for use, there are two options that can be considered. You could consider engineering judgement and/or on-site testing to account for variability in performance.
